DABIDA AWARD IGMA MAY REVIEW

Nefer Kane, 3rd Place Win

Congratulations Nefer Kane!

The Dutch and Belgian Institute of Doll Artists, (DABIDA) holds an annual doll contest.

This year, CDHM Artisan Nefer Kane placed 3rd place with her "Heaven's Rider" original doll sculpt.

Congratulations Newest IGMA Artisans & Fellows

During May each year, IGMA, International Guild of Miniature Artisans holds a juried Artisan Selection Committee for consideration of Artisan status and the Guild Council for Fellow Selection for consideration of the highest Guild ranking, that of Guild Fellow. Only those who produce work of superior quality receive these honors as outlined on the organizations website.

►   Christel Jensen, awarded IGMA Artisan status in the
Food category.

►   Lidi Stroud, awarded IGMA Artisan status in
the Wicker category.

►   Margaret Cassidy, awarded IGMA Artisan status in
the Food category.

►   Orsolya Skulteti, awarded IGMA Fellow status in
the Food category.

►   Philippa Todd, awarded IGMA Fellow status in
the Food category.

doll artisan Hannie Sarris-Hulstein
of the The Netherlands has passed
away suddenly from complications
of pneumonia, May 2, 2010. The
funeral was May 10. She is
survived by her husband, a
daughter, and son,Michali Sarris.

Hannie was the founder of DABIDA, the Dutch and
Belgian Institute of Doll Artists. The doll world lost
a remarkable doll sculptor and a remarkably
generous teacher.

►   Our deepest sympathies are extended to Mariella
Vitale and her family on the loss of her Uncle.
He was 62 years young.

►   Condolences are extended to Forum member,
Lynnie410 and her family on the recent loss
of her dear father after a prolonged illness.

►   Sammy Smith of Happiness Is Miniatures passed CDHM The Miniature Way Tidbits, news in the dollhouse miniature community
away in March after a 31-year
battle with cancer.

Sammy traded as Happiness Is
Miniatures.

Sammy is survived by her
husband, Jerry Smith, son, Matt
and daughter, Anne.
