CDHM Writer, Lu Garcia aka llamalu, finds every day found objects to create dollhouse miniatures

She also taught me how to mend a seam, CDHM Writer, Lu Garcia aka llamalu, finds every day found objects to create dollhouse miniatures darn a sock and hem pants and skirts. Thanks Mom! In honor of my mother, between mending garments and simple sewing projects for my family I have accumulated my own eclectic sewing stash. I am proud to say that my button tin is steadily growing year after year.

We all know that buttons make great decorative plates and trays, but a clear button paired with jewelry findings could also make a convincing ceiling light fixture. My striped flower pot is made from simple buttons stacked on one another. If you take special care when you stack them and line up the holes as you glue the buttons together this will give you a convenient place to stick your plant stems.

I found the flowers in my pot among my sewing items as well. They are decorative straight pins embellished for added realism. You can also add some jewels and sparkly thread to a star-shaped pin and you'll be granting wishes in no time with your new wand. Other shapes can be used with straight pins for creating garden stakes and signs.
