Started on a wooden filigree base, this platter basket is woven in soft natural tones. Barely an inch in diameter, this lovely piece would make an excellent display in any dollhouse scene.
Moving into a new arena, I've started using closed coiling to rim and lid tiny gourds. This cute little Tenessee Spinner Gourd is less than 1.5" in diameter!
Inspired by the Penobscot Indians sea urchin baskets, this is my interpretation, backed by a real sea urchin! This and several of my other baskets managed to take blue ribbons at the State Fair again this year.

A tiny, 1" diameter gourd basket, rimmed in coiled pine needles, and embellished with fungus, feathers and lots and lots of seed heads.
A tiny group of my horsehair baskets. Most are about 1/2" to 3/4", and are coiled from antique horsehair taken from my German grandfather's violin bow.
One of my latest pieces, a tiny Tennessee Spinner Gourd, coiled rim and dangling jasper beads.
A sampling of my Market Baskets in 3 different styles and finishes, each about 1.25" long, .75" wide and 1.5" tall with handle.
A selection from my "Country Christmas" collection: lush baskets woven in a swirl of pine, cranberry and natural colored 'reed' (paper floss).
