Here's a stunning vase made from a highly figured piece of Box Elder Burl that was dyed black and stabilized.  The areas that didn't take any dye remain the natural blonde color, and really add some nice contrast.  Lots of eyes and rays in the grain, and lots of shimmering depth as you turn it in the light.  Around the shoulder I inlayed a band of genuine crushed Turquoise, which adds some nice blue color.

Here's a gorgeous Southwest Form made from several different materials.  The main body is Dakota Burl, which is actually the hulls from sunflower seeds that have been compressed and stabilized!  Isn't the pattern neat?  The foot is a beautiful watermelon-red piece of Pink Ivory, a very rare exotic wood from Africa.  The rim is a piece of Tagua Nut, which is often used as a substitute for ivory.  Around the top of the rim I inlayed a delicate band of genuine crushed Turquoise, adding a sublte blue color.  The vase has been completely hollowed out.
