My latest doll series is a tribute to all of the unforgettable characters in literature, movies and musicals who have made an indelible impression on me for whatever reason. My criteria for choosing which dolls to make: characters who step up off the flat page and LIVE! The ones who LIVE on long after I've finished the book or left the cinema.

Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, is pictured here with his evil sidekick, Mrs Lovett. He is 6 inches tall and made from china-painted porcelain. He wears dark grey and black pinstripe pants, a white cotton shirt and grey waistcoat. Mrs Lovett, the devious business partner and accomplice of Sweeney Todd, is just over 5 inches tall and created from china-painted porcelain. She wears a black cotton print dress finished with black and red lace over her delightful underwear and black leather boots. On her hands she wears black lacey cropped gloves. Her brown mop of hair is from viscose and she comes with a rolling pin and plate of pies..... hmmm, what could those pies be made from? SOLD A fictional favourite for many is Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Here's my interpretation of that well-loved young girl - she's just over 4 inches tall and created from china-painted porcelain. She wears pale blue cotton socks with her "ruby" slippers, a white blouse with blue embroidery on the sleeves and collar and a blue and white checked / plaid pinafore. Her auburn hair, from viscose, is tied up in bunches and finished off with two blue silk ribbon bows. She comes with her dog Toto and a handmade basket for only $150.
