Pudgy Little Heart-stealers

"As for my dolls, I like making babies the most. I've always loved babies, and I've been babysitting since I was 10 years old. CDHM artisan Pam Poulakos of Hannypanny Dolls in Miniatures I used to make doll families entirely out of polymer clay, clothing too, but at some point in the future I want to make some new doll families with real, removable fabric clothing like my baby dolls have," she added. For now, her polymer clay creations are crafted completely out of clay using a surprisingly basic tool.

"ProSculpt polymer clay and Super Sculpey polymer clay are my clays of choice. The tool I use the most is a wooden cuticle stick. I find it invaluable for making tiny little faces and smoothing off little tiny baby fingertips! I CDHM artisan Pam Poulakos of Hannypanny Dolls in Miniatures prefer Sculpey Studio tools and have a nice selection of those, thanks to my son who gifts me with new tools and clay for just about every holiday! My most outlandish tools are probably little ones that I make myself to make my work easier," she said.

And they all come out of her one room workroom in her Milwaukee, WI home, along with her computer work, sewing, shipping or any other projects.

"I prefer creating anything that is from the 1950's to modern. But some of the things I have in progress or on my workpad are from different eras. There are some things I can't wait to make, but I'm wrestling with the legal CDHM artisan Pam Poulakos of Hannypanny Dolls in Miniatures aspects of duplicating some licensed things in miniature. Basically I want to keep stretching and growing, getting better until I have attained what I consider to be my best," she said.

While she creates, Pam enjoys watching "mindless things, like sitcoms or medical shows," or listening to music, including her favorite group Il Divo. She also more than likely has her computer on and her email open.

"I tend to form friendships with repeat customers, and they with me. I guess sometimes I spend a little too much time on emails instead of working on dolls, as we tend to send them on a regular basis just to say hello!" She also talks to herself. A lot.

"It's true! It's fairly common knowledge among people who know me that I talk a lot, out loud and whether I am with other people or not. Even if I'm alone I still keep on talking to whatever inanimate object happens to be available. I talk to my phone most often because it is giving me messages and reminders. I realize that this isn't exactly 'normal', but I find myself feeling odd if I try to keep my talking to myself!
