Look closer and you will find toys in 1/12th and 1/24th scale - from pull-alongs to stacking block tortoises to jointed dollies to teddies and soldiers. And that's not all. There are push-along ladybirds and bees with working wings, pull-along ducks with working wings and Pantins - all made from wood.

Standing with curtains drawn waiting to be brought to life are gaily painted wooden puppet theaters - could a wooden Pinocchio resist such a stage?

Matuszek creates her pull-along sheep on a platform by sculpting each one individually from paperclay and then furring them with real sheep wool.
