Architectural details fascinate me the most and that fascination shows in the houses that I choose to build. I'm always drawn to unique features such as built-in bookcases, hidden tower rooms, French doors, balconies, winding staircases, bay windows and window seats," said Deb Roberts, who is also a textile artist and the editor-in-chief of the Greenleaf Gazette where she gets to experiment with all different kinds of miniatures while writing tutorials.

"I love miniatures, but sometimes I prefer to simply display an empty dollhouse so I can admire the architectural lines and features."

A quick look in her gallery reveals houses from 1:48 scale to 1:12 in every style imaginable. From a blush pink seaside cottage to a Victorian house with graceful curves to a French cafe complete with marble floors inside and a stone patio outside to a Samurai's summer home - she proves that anything is possible.

"I've loved miniatures all my life and there was always a tiny voice in the back of my head saying, 'You should have a dollhouse'. When I finally gave in a little over four years ago and began researching the type dollhouse I wanted, I discovered that kits were more prevalent than pre-built dollhouses. The design selection was much more varied in kit form as well. I ended up falling in love with the Greenleaf Pierce kit.

"My 'one' dollhouse has now turned into 17 displayed in various parts of my home. I love my dollhouses and will continue to build them for myself, but since I'm addicted to building more than I am to owning I had to branch out into building them for other people too!"

And she's not the only one.
