My favorite part of mini-making is taking a life-sized item and using it as a mini element. I like the look of astonishment in the eyes of the viewer when the item is revealed! In my opinion, steampunked items would tip the scale of whimsicalness because they have CDHM Writer, Lu Garcia aka llamalu, finds every day found objects to create dollhouse miniatures all the components: imagination, amusement and unpredictability. Even just using bright colors or crazy patterns can turn ordinary items into real attention grabbers.

This child's bed is made from colored pencils and a picture frame. Colorful party napkins provided the perfect bedding.
