Found Objects

CDHM Writer, Lu Garcia aka llamalu, finds every day found objects to create dollhouse miniatures Most of you probably have sewing pins in your stash but you could ask your best friend or mom for some if you don't want to purchase them. Trim the heads off very short. They make realistic-looking rivets to glue in the holes of the handles. Other options that you may already have on hand could be clay, beads, or filling in with a dot of paint.

Open them up all the way and bend one back and forth several times to break it off. File this area and smooth it out. Gently straighten the other one for the handle. If the handle seems too short you can always add clay, tape or paper to lengthen it. Adding in a small wire to the end will give you the ability to hang it. You may need to visit a craft store to find brads for smaller scales.

If you want your pot to have a lid, look for things like buttons, suction cups, and large sequins to fit your pot and add a handle to the top.

Voila, you're ready to make your dollhouse oven look lovin'!
